A pilot project of this program is the project "Elements of Social Tourism in the Czech and Bavarian Parts of the Bohemian Forest". The objective of this project is to make the Bohemian Forest accessible for the handicapped people. Since July 2009, individual hotels and restaurants have been subject to assessment on both sides of the Czech-German border in terms of their accessibility by handicapped people. The assessment has been so far going on in nine municipalities - 6 on the Czech side and 3 on the German side of the Bohemian Forest. The survey is carried out directly by the handicapped people who may objectively assess a questionnaire with approx. 500 assessment criteria. Its output shall be identification of individual accommodation and boarding activities with a mark representing the degree of accessibility for handicapped people. All information shall be specifically described in the project website and information brochure for handicapped people.
